Uses : Glivac Tablets contain the active ingredient imatinib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor used primarily in the treatment of certain types of cancer. Imatinib works by blocking the action of a specific protein (BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase) that causes cancer cells to grow and multiply. Uses: Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML): Imatinib is used as a first-line treatment for Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL): Used in cases of Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST): Treats unresectable and/or metastatic malignant gastrointestinal stromal tumors expressing CD117 (c-KIT). Other Conditions: It is also used in other conditions like dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans and myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative diseases.
